What will a DP do?

A DP's role extends from evaluation, assessments, counseling to providing and coordinating an interventional plan and treatment. The DP will assess the child’s development in the areas of physical, communication, language, play, social skills and draw out a profile of the child’s areas of strengths and challenges.

Who is a DP?

A Developmental Paediatrician (DP) is the first point of contact for parents/caregivers who have concerns about their child's development or their behaviours. There may be many reasons for a way a child behaves. The DP 's assessment will be focussed on understanding the factors leading to the concerns and formulating a plan to support the child and family.
